Description
The Engineering Technician will join the Bionano Operations team with responsibilities including manufacturing, testing, service, and support of Bionano’s instruments and devices. The Engineering Technician will work closely with quality and production teams to support manufacturing of Bionano’s products.  Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Handle final processing and release testing of instruments sent from Contract Manufacturer and customer returns.  * Conduct preventive maintenance and repair of internal and field return instruments. * Maintain device history records for internal and external instruments. * Assist in maintaining equipment calibration/maintenance system. * Perform root cause analysis, implement corrective/preventative action and continuous improvements. * Ensure adherence to Quality System requirements throughout product lifecycle.  * Provide support to receiving inspection, document control, internal auditing, and training processes. * Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities * Hands-on with strong analytical and organization skills. * Strong in electro-mechanical troubleshooting. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Close attentions to details. * Strong continuous improvement mindset. * Demonstrated experience with fluorescence microscopy techniques. * Experience with building and testing of optical systems, preferred. * Experience with single molecule microscopy techniques. * Experience with CCD-based and/or sCMOS imaging systems. * Experience with and knowledge of standard molecular biology techniques. * Experience assisting with incoming quality inspection. * Medical device instrument manufacturing knowledge and experience. * Experience in safety and ergonomics work environment. * Experience working with ERP and QMS software. * Experience with 5S, Kaizen or any lean methodologies * Able to manage multi-facetted priorities in high pace environments.
