Located in Traverse City, Michigan, Colt Optics is a global supplier of electro-optics, magnified optics, night vision systems and other weapons, accessories and enablers. Job Summary The Engineering Technician supports both the engineering and manufacturing teams in the development, assembly, and continuous improvement of firearm optics products. This role serves as a critical bridge between engineering and production, contributing to both day-to-day manufacturing and new product development activities. Key Responsibilities Assemble products as part of the production team while supporting engineering initiatives Build and test prototypes for new product development Assist in the development, creation, and updating of work instructions Support production troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities Assist with equipment setup, changeover, and process validation activities Collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturing processes and product quality Participating in continuous improvement initiatives Rotate across assembly stations as part of a cross-functional team Perform work in accordance with cleanroom standards, including gloves, gowns, and contamination control Conform to and maintain ESD control requirements Utilize inspection tools, including microscopes, where required QualificationsRequired: Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or engineering support role Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and processes Preferred: Experience with SolidWorks or willingness to learn Familiarity with prototype development and testing Experience supporting manufacturing or process engineering activities Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Experience with ERP systems (Epicor is a plus)
