Job Area: Engineering Services Group, Engineering Services Group > Engineering Technician General Summary: Equipment Operation: Operate and monitor Tape and Reel packaging machines, ensuring efficient and accurate production. Perform setup and adjustments on equipment to meet production specifications. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance on Tape and Reel equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment (Tape and Reel, vacuum sealing, strapping machine etc.) issues. Maintain the machine for continuous operation. Overview machine performance and compile machine down time. Planning and implement the machine upgrade. Diagnostic and troubleshoot and rectify any machine related issues. Support the machine upgrade. Trouble shoot and repair pick and place machine, vacuum machine, strapping machine. Buy off for the machine upgrade. Maintain the machine’s recipe. Maintain and backup the machine’s log records and software. Machine Preventive / Predictive Maintenance Execute periodic preventive maintenance on the machines. Overview machine performance, ensure fully support of the machine to the operation. Replace the faulty machine parts. Record the log of the preventive maintenance for the machines. Manage the equipment for the preventive maintenance use. Plan and perform predictive maintenance by analyzing the machine performance. Ensure no or minimum breakdown of machine with no disruptions to the operations. Spare part Management Vendor sourcing and RFQ for the spares with proper vetting and analysis. Procurement of the necessary machine spare parts. Setup for the new equipment and tools. Keep record of the machine spare parts. Track consumption of spares and ensure minimum balance of spares are maintained. Source alternate spares to improve the spare parts life. Tracking of life span of the spares and improvement projects to increase the life span of spares. Overview and manage the replacement of the spare parts. Maintain the minimum quantity of the spare parts. Process / Machine Development Create label program file based on the customer’s requirements. Enhance processes for Tape and Reel packaging, ensuring alignment with product specifications and quality standards. Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and control plans. Evaluate new materials and technologies that can enhance process capabilities. Performs new product, materials, machine qualification and buy off Conduct and arrange training and certification for operators Quality Assurance: Liase with Quality Assurance on the new package requirements. Review and update BOM of customer requirements for new product / specifications requirements. Send FAI report for new package. Support in the investigation of internal/external customer complaints to find the root causes and advise appropriate solution to resolve them. Performs product low yield and reject verifications analysis Responsibilities for specification update for any new process and product qualified Performs new product, materials, machine qualification and buy off. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree. OR Associate's degree and 1+ year of Engineering Technician or related work experience. OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of Engineering Technician or related work experience. Physical Requirements: • Frequently transports and installs equipment weighing at least 25 lbs.
