ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN/GRADUATE ENGINEER

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a skilled Engineering Technician/Graduate Engineer with hands-on experience in hardware development, ideally within an R&D environment. You’ll join our Engineering Team, supporting the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototypes, microfluidic chips, and test rigs. You will also take responsibility for maintaining workshop operations.

As an integral part of our team, you will work directly with Engineers to support the design and development of new diagnostic technologies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operate laser cutters and a range of 3D printers.
  • Calibrate and maintain workshop equipment, including CNC machines, 3D printers, laser cutters, and thermal presses.
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot prototypes and components, ensuring quality and performance, and documenting results.
  • Assemble electronics, such as crimping custom cables.
  • Conduct small-scale production (e.g. 10s) of microfluidic chips, following in-house protocols.
  • Support Engineers with novel fabrication and assembly tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for materials and consumables.
