JOB SUMMARY

The Engineering Technician is responsible for overall quality activities of the repair station by detecting, preventing, problem solving, and dispositioning to minimize the number and impact of serious quality problems in compliance with the FAA Repair Station regulations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Manufacturing or Quality Assurance experience
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal
  • Detailed understanding of TQM systems, including the ability to direct , implement and maintain such
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient computer use; Able to navigate Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, powerpoint)

Preferred:

  • FAA certification.
  • 2 year associates degree from college or technical school.

Responsibilities

DUTIES

  • Plan, organize, and lead the implementation and use of quality systems and procedures in plant to assure consistent quality monitoring
  • Implement control systems and procedures in order to prevent products not meeting quality standards into customer service wins
  • Interact with Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineering, Plant Engineer, Maintenance, and Production; assist with all production activities, troubleshooting, drives customer satisfaction in the facility
  • Assist in the plant in all areas of Quality Assurance; Coordinate and implement best practices
  • Development of department targets and objectives
  • Assist in the corrective action system for quality troubles; issue statistical reports
  • Assist in maintaining all Repair Station certifications and record keeping systems
  • Able to identify deviations from approved procedures and take appropriate corrective actions to keep production process within specified tolerances.
  • Report all discrepancies to Manager or Assistant Manager of Quality Assurance.
  • Must be familiar with entire retreading process.
  • Perform material testing/tire cutting/measuring, as required.
  • All other duties as assigned
