SUMMARY:
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I: To perform basic technical engineering duties for a highway district.
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN II: To perform technical engineering duties for a highway district including permit review, construction inspection, design, survey and specification development for materials and equipment.
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN III: To perform and assist in supervising technical engineering duties for a highway district including permit review, construction inspection, design, survey and specification development for materials and equipment.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS : Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN III
Provides technical permitting review with related correspondence and communications for various Department programs.
Maintains, researches, and interprets highway plans and related legal documents to provide engineering and legal data to internal and external customers.
Provides technical supervision for driveway, utility and district construction projects to ensure specification compliance.
Provides pre-construction technical data including survey, right of way research, estimates, engineering drawings, materials list and specifications to enable the construction/reconstruction of State highways and
maintenance facilities.
Manages/coordinates various programs within the district (Sponsor A Highway, hazard tree, etc.) the district’s tree removal program.
Assist with managing the district’s seasonal weight restriction program. Conducts field reviews as necessary to ensure appropriate management of the program.
