POSITION SUMMARY

As a Technician 3, you will play a critical role in the assembly, testing, and validation of electro-mechanical systems and medical devices. You will work closely with engineering teams to support product development, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. This position requires hands-on technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate specialized lab equipment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Ability to provide leadership for projects of limited scope and impact or portions of a major project.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and application of mechanical, electrical, or metrology theory related to medical devices and practice is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work well with others.
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Excellent practical knowledge of EE lab equipment, such as digital multi-meters, programmable power supplies, signal generators, data logging equipment, as well as specialized battery and EMC test tools.
  • Experience soldering electrical components.
  • Experience with test software (LabView, Python, etc.).Experience with Product Lifecycle Management software (Agile).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree in an electronics related field
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience.Previous experience with medical devices preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and test electro-mechanical hardware
  • Support electrical engineering by testing analog and digital circuits using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and waveform generators
  • Set up, operate, and monitor medical devices per the System Operator Manual
  • Develop, document, and validate test methods for complex projects
  • Execute test plans and collect data using specialized lab equipment, including:
  • Instron
  • Thermal chamber
  • Sound chamber
  • Battery tester
  • EMC test equipment
  • Maintain and operate pneumatic-controlled test fixtures
  • Collaborate with internal teams, contributing to decision-making on critical projects
  • Maintain accurate data collection and entry with integrity
  • Assist in training, procedural documentation, and best practices for medical device development
  • Ensure R&D lab safety compliance
  • Lead test equipment calibration, maintenance, and process improvements
  • Support lab management by gathering budgetary data and performance metrics
  • Assist in team training, development, and hiring processesManage PO issuance, prototyping materials, and expense reports
