MoboTrex has an opportunity to join our growing organization in a full-time, Engineering Technician, position at our headquarters in Davenport, Iowa. The Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the Engineering Department with the design, documentation, and execution of traffic control cabinet projects. This position provides technical and administrative assistance to ensure projects are delivered accurately, on schedule, and in compliance with industry and customer specifications. This position works closely with engineers, production teams, vendors, and clients to maintain project records, prepare technical drawings, and facilitate communication across all project stages. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Engineering & Technical Support: • Assist engineers with the design, development, and implementation of traffic cabinet and signal system projects. • Prepare, update, and maintain engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software. • Support the preparation of engineering documentation, reports, and project submittals. • Conduct data collection, analysis, and organization for project design and estimation. • Participate in testing, inspection, and quality assurance activities as directed. Project Coordination: • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and customers to obtain required information and approvals. • Maintain detailed project records, logs, and schedules to track progress and deliverables. • Support communication between engineering, production, and field operations teams. Compliance & Standards: • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and industry standards including NEMA TS1, TS2, ATC, and Caltrans specifications. • Contribute to process improvements and documentation consistency across engineering projects. Other Duties: • Provide general administrative and technical support to the Engineering Department as needed. Qualifications: Education & Experience • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline required. • 1–3 years of experience in an engineering, drafting, or technical support role preferred. Technical Skills: • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent). • Working knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. • Familiarity with traffic control industry standards (NEMA, TS2, ATC, Caltrans). • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Work Environment • Primarily an office-based position with occasional work in production or field environments. • May require limited travel to job sites, vendor facilities, or customer locations. Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls.
