Responsibilities

Reporting to the Housing Maintenance Supervisor the Plumbing Technician will undertake day-to-day preventative maintenance activities and breakdown repairs in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and liveability in our Newman Residential Houses and Eco Villages.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Undertake preventative maintenance inspections of plant and equipment;
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process;
  • Cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and consultation;
  • Take a proactive role in maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour;
  • Participate within the Housing Department to implement business plans consistent with site strategies/ plans;
  • Monitor the Housing Maintenance work plan and elevate unplanned and non-routine activity or performance to the Supervisor;
  • Perform all aspects of planned, breakdown and shutdown activities in regard to housing maintenance;
  • Carry out system generated on and offline inspections.
