Description
SAIC is seeking an Engineer Technician to support the Middletown Rhode Island Operations in the building of military testing and ancillary equipment. JOB DESCRIPTION: In this role, you fabricate, update, qualify, and troubleshoot electronic, electro-mechanical systems including constructing cable and harnesses. To perform these tasks, you will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform duties. You will work with engineers and customers to resolve technical issues that arise and to qualify systems. You will be responsible to mark-up and document any changes as well as to clarify methods and processes to perform tasks to supplied engineer documentation. Applicants should have experience performing required task in similar product environment. JOB DUTIES: Fabricate electronic / electro-mechanical test equipment Fabricate wire cables and harnesses Inspect, test, and perform qualification processes for systems and sub-assemblies Troubleshoot technical issues to functionality and compliance Manage the accuracy of the technical documentation with engineering team Communicate and work with engineering technical support team and customers to resolve issues related to the system design and functionality REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE: High school diploma or GED certificate and one (1) year experience. Preferred technical education and training in a relative vocational field Minimum of (1) year of manufacturing experience building electro-mechanical systems, cables, and harnesses Prior or existing certifications in IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 certification or minimum proven experience working to standards Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems fabrication a plus Ability to read all relative technical documentation including drawings and wire diagrams Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools, including digital multi meters, micrometers, calipers, and other similar metrology devices Attention to detail Must be able to obtain Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
The Engineering Technician will fabricate, update, qualify, and troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical systems. This includes constructing cables and harnesses while working from various technical documents and collaborating with engineers and customers to resolve issues.
