Job Summary The Technician II – Engineering independently supports engineering and production activities, including equipment setups, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation updates. This role collaborates with engineers on process trials and improvements while guiding Technician I personnel. Responsibilities Independently perform preventive maintenance and line readiness checks on manufacturing equipment. Independently troubleshoot and diagnose test failures using test equipment and diagnostic tools. Document results of troubleshooting and provide feedback to engineering for corrective actions. Assist in NPI builds by refining test processes or identifying gaps in coverage. Train and guide Technician I personnel in basic troubleshooting practices. Operate specialized test systems such as thermal chambers, RF, or vibration equipment. Execute setups/changeovers to standard work; verify first-piece acceptance with minimal rework. Troubleshoot and correct intermediate-level equipment issues (feeders, sensors, transport, alignment). Collect and analyze process or equipment data to support engineering evaluations. Perform equipment calibration and verification per established schedules and procedures. Conduct ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) checks and verification of controls to ensure compliance with standards. Collaborate with engineers on trials, ECNs, and minor process adjustments. Basic equipment programming. Includes - loading, modifying, and validate existing programs. Perform oven profiling and recipe setup for reflow and/or curing. Includes - running profiles, verify against specifications such as soak time, TAL, peak time, adjust zone setpoints & conveyor speed. Provide guidance and on-the-job training to Technician I personnel. Ensure compliance with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, ITAR), as well as IPC standards. Perform other duties or support other areas as needed based on business requirements or production flow. Requirements Required Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent required. · 2+ years of technical experience in manufacturing or equipment support. · Proficiency performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment. · Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to interpret work instructions, technical drawings, schematics, engineering change instructions, documentation, and safety requirements. Preferred Qualifications · Experience in electronics manufacturing, including SMT or soldering processes. · Working knowledge of CMMS, ERP, or MES systems. · Familiarity with root cause analysis tools and structured problem-solving. · Introductory exposure to PLC/HMI diagnostics or automation systems. Key Metrics and Focus Areas · Effective preventive maintenance and timely resolution of equipment issues. · Adherence to process parameters and first-article acceptance. · Accuracy of updates and records in CMMS and process documents. · Effective support of Technician I and clear communication with engineers. Physical Requirements / Essential Functions · Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods and move between work areas throughout the shift · Manual dexterity to use hand tools, torque tools, and test equipment; repetitive motions as required · Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 25 lbs occasionally; team-lift items above this threshold when required · Work performed in an electronics manufacturing environment with exposure to soldering fumes, chemicals, ESD controls, and production noise · Availability for occasional overtime or off-shift support during line-down conditions or critical builds How to Apply If interested in this role, please apply with your resume or input your work history into the fields on the application.
