Description
SCMI1 has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill one vacancy for DFS Support. The employee will function in accordance with the equivalent responsibilities of an Engineering Technician V to provide critical technical assistance, engineering evaluations, and maintenance tracking for U.S. Navy surface ships and submarines. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Departures from Specification Adjudication to include: DFS requirements for Depot-level repairs of Fleet requests Review of all DFS's upon receipt of request from the Type Commander Interface with Type Commander, Ship's Force, and Maintenance Team to review DFS's Process all Type Commander and Ship's Force Depot-level DFS's that require higher-level adjudication Monitor and track DFS to ensure timely responses to DFS requests Communicate on behalf of the customer for DFS needs to include reporting operational limitations that impact key events and milestones for CNO Availabilites Provide regular status updates to Naval Supervisory Activity of all related DFS matters Security Clearance Requirements: Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET Security Clearance Qualifications and Educational Requirements: Associate Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related field 5 to 7 years of shipboard HM&E experience Demonstrated proficiency with naval engineering tracking metrics, technical writing, and system validation procedures Ability to execute physical shipboard surveys or technical documentation audits in accordance with assigned division protocols Ability to read and interpret NSI's, NSTM's drawings, and other technical documentation Ability to attend Technical Authority Training within 3 months of hire Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders MS Office suite proficiency required Familiarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirements Ability to use clear and concise oral and written communication **Please note that your resume and candidacy is subject to customer approval and acceptance and clearing of the required background check.
