ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST – DERRIMUT VIC

Kogan People Solutions are delighted to be working with a client operating across the globe for over 180 years. With an official presence in countries as diverse as the UK, Thailand, Ireland, Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia, our client is a leader in the food ingredient industry, with thousands of ingredients on offer. This massive range of fine products offers a wealth of options for food and beverage manufacturers across the globe.
They are now seeking an experienced and skilled Engineering Technologist to join their passionate team in their world class facilities based in Derrimut. The role is full time and ongoing, with an attractive salary in the range of $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum.

Responsibilities

THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION WILL INCLUDE:

  • Analyse and modify new and existing engineering technologies and apply them in testing and implementation of engineering projects.
  • Monitoring the operation and maintenance of our manufacturing capabilities and achieve maximum efficiency under safe operating conditions.
  • Optimising costs of production and design.
  • Monitoring processes to ensure procedures are aligned with engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Performing test procedures as and when required.
  • Managing the handling and storage of materials, products and equipment.
  • Maintaining the required work performance and overseeing best practise waste handling.
  • Establish specifications and supervise manufacturing to ensure all quality and production requirements are met.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO POSITIVELY ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:

  • Highly relevant engineering bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.
  • At least 1-3 years, preferably more, of experience in a subject area closely aligned in the food industry.
  • High level of communication skills to maintain a professional face with all client interactions.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • High level technical skills relevant to the role, including well developed systems skills.
  • Ideally you will have a strong knowledge of food industry manufacturing industry requirements and relevant emerging technologies.
