THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tetra Tech is accepting applications for Engineering Technologists (Seasonal) to our Engineering team at our location in Penticton, BC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduated from a Civil Engineering Technology program (industry experience also considered an asset).
  • 3 years of industry experience minimum.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and be able to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract upon hire.
  • CCIL training and certification considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients is a mandatory requirement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and listening skills.
  • Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute to the Practice by being a team player.
  • Willing to work on remote projects and extended hours as needed.
  • Be physically capable of performing the manual labour duties required.

Responsibilities
  • Senior and Intermediate levels of Construction supervision of civil, geotechnical and material engineering projects.
  • Working on municipal, commercial and industrial projects in a field environment.
  • Shallow and Deep Foundation construction monitoring.
  • Providing inspection, and quality control and assurance monitoring and testing on a variety of field-projects.
  • Performing field and laboratory testing of soil, aggregates, Portland cement, asphalt and concrete including sieve analysis, density testing using nuclear density gauges.
  • Preparation of Proctors and Marshall molds, asphalt cement content, sand equivalents, Atterberg limits and moisture content, including evaluation and reporting of properties and characteristics.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Other duties as required to conduct our business and build on the job knowledge.
