We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technologist to join our team.
The successful candidate must work well independently and in a team, be reliable and take responsibility and pride in their work.
About the role

As an Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring production efficiencies and outcomes
  • Investigating and evaluating current work processes to identify area of improvements and implement changes to achieve better production efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Cooperating with engineers to carry out interdisciplinary work
  • Designing and modifying equipment and work processes to optimise efficiencies and use of resources while ensuring operational safety
  • Producing and submitting proposals to management for modifications/upgrades to equipment and work processes
  • Analysing existing technology
  • Assisting with development and tests of components/products to ensure they meet quality standards and operating requirements
  • Designing blueprints and plans for engineering projects
  • Planning assignments and make recommendations based on worker performance, machine capacity and production schedules
  • Ensuring procedures are aligned with engineering principles and safety regulations
  • Communicate with contractors, suppliers and all persons in the organisations to ensure on-time delivery of quality products

Skills and experience

To be successful for this role, you will have the following skills/experience:

  • A bachelor degree or higher in the relevant field (Engineering or Technology)
  • At least 3 years’ relevant work experience
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Compliance with specifications and project requirements
  • Experience in metal fabrication machineries and technologies will be highly regarded
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Be self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • A critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
