Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Engineering Technologist to work for our company. You will be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of industrial, automotive, and solar batteries.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct diagnostic testing, performance evaluation, and lifespan assessment of battery systems, including root cause analysis for faults.
  • Prepare structured technical reports and liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and Registered Professional Engineers for warranty investigations and technical validation.
  • Provide engineering recommendations on battery selection, system sizing, and integration with UPS and solar systems, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and site-specific requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Registered Engineers and manufacturers to integrate battery systems with UPS units, ensuring each battery or battery pack operates within specified parameters.
  • Coordinate and supervise site-based installation, setup, testing and commissioning of battery systems.
  • Provide on-site support to contractors and clients to ensure technical accuracy, safety compliance, and alignment with design specifications.
  • Monitor adherence to relevant electrical and engineering standards, and support internal audits and quality control efforts.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, including test data, product specifications, and procedural documentation.
  • Deliver technical training and develop instructional materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and act as a bridge between technical teams, sales staff, and end users to ensure effective system understanding and operation.
