Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Client is seeking a technically capable and motivated candidate to support the development of software tools that will streamline and improve the efficiency of our Emissions and Change Management processes. This role focuses on the design and delivery of VBA, Python, and related tools to automate reporting, enable process tracking, and simplify the preparation of summary documentation.
The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting our internal change review team by digitising and optimising current workflows—without requiring prior automotive or propulsion-specific experience.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in developing automation or data processing tools using VBA, Python, and other coding/scripting languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently to identify gaps or inefficiencies in existing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with a structured approach to capturing and translating user requirements into actionable development.
  • A proactive and enquiring mindset, always looking to enhance and refine workflows.
  • Ability to work closely with a non-technical user base to deliver effective and user-friendly tools.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Change Management Review Team to understand existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and capture functional requirements for tool development.
  • Develop custom tools using VBA, Python, and other scripting languages to support:
  • Process throughput tracking
  • Automated reporting
  • Generation of summary evidence packs for releases
  • Validate, document, and deploy tools with appropriate support material and version control.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by proactively identifying further automation or optimisation opportunities.
  • Maintain and update tools in line with evolving reporting and regulatory requirements over time.
