Responsibilities
  • Engineering management and Team management, Support to planning, cost, schedules, change management, requirements analysis and approval, assuring Engineering Rigour.
  • Lead the design and development of nuclear management systems, ensuring they meet program outcomes and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the integration of safety into the design and operations of the Nuclear-Powered Submarine and the construction yard.
  • Ensure all nuclear engineering activities comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards. Conduct safety assessments and implement necessary measures to mitigate risks.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to the nuclear engineering team. Address and resolve technical challenges, ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted safely, efficiently and effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with nuclear engineering activities. Develop and implement risk management plans to address potential issues and ensure the safety and reliability of nuclear systems.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including project updates, technical reports, and regulatory compliance. Provide regular updates on nuclear engineering activities.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in nuclear engineering processes and systems. Implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, safety, and performance.
  • Develop and support the regulatory engagement strategy for identifying and coordinating ASC’s relationship and interactions (e.g. ARPANSA, ANPSSR, ASNO, ONR, EPA) through the multiple life cycle phases and the management of licensee transition periods.
  • Develop a thorough life safety case documentation strategy and structure to support regulatory approval of the SSN-AUKUS build program
