Position Overview Ongoing |  Full Time | $119k - $134k +15.4% super Flexible work environment wiht generous leave provisions Purpose driven, nationally significant work About the Opportunity ANSTO is seeking an Engineering Workshop Planning Lead to play a pivotal role in coordinating and leading production and project planning activities within our Engineering Support Workshop. This role combines people leadership, technical oversight, and strong stakeholder engagement in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment. You will lead a team of specialised production planners and work closely with engineers, project managers, quality, finance, and customers to ensure work is planned and delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will bring: Experience in metal manufacturing trades, engineering, or production planning within a regulated environment Strong people leadership and performance management capability Confidence working with SAP, planning systems, budgets, and schedules A collaborative communication style and a strong customer focus A commitment to safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement   Teamwork builds the solution; customer focus defines its success  - Bianca Shepherd, Engineering Support Workshop ManagerYour Duties and Responsibilities Lead a multi-disciplinary team of specialised production planners to provide quality and timely delivery of products and services by setting work objectives and managing and assessing the performance of team members; Responsible for Planning System and databases including: data integrity; delivery of quality & project status reporting for management and identification/development of system improvements; including providing high level SAP support and advice to the Engineering division; Responsible for the initiation and oversight of customer works prior to commencement. This includes ensuring all requisite documentation is reviewed. The role may entail development of cost estimates, assessing budgets and deadline deliverables; compiling technical materials to ensure planners can commence work efficiently and accurately within the centralised planning function Manage and control requests and enquiries by applying technical skills, engineering experience and divisional knowledge to make decisions, work closely with the customer regarding requisite documentation, prior to the acceptance and allocation of work to the production planner, QC team or external service providers.
