We are currently looking for an Engineering Workshop Technician to help support our innovative engineering curriculum. This is a truly exciting time to join the college as we are a rapidly growing department providing exceptional education opportunities in the workshop environment.
The successful candidate will hold an appropriate professional qualification/apprenticeship, degree or HNC or have appropriate industry experience, and be willing to work towards a teaching qualification.
We are open to Engineering university students needing to complete placement projects, where they have stellar repair and maintenance experience.
This role will implement general machinery repair and maintenance to ensure compliance with health and safety across a range of engineering machinery including Milling Machines, Lathes, Pillar Drills, Bandsaws and other equipment. The successful candidate will assist workshop lecturers and supervise groups of full time and apprenticeship learners in a practical environment. The role allows for contribution to the co-ordination of workshop planning, delivery and assessment to meet education and training needs.
To be successful in post, you will need to be able to demonstrate good planning, and a commitment to high quality health and safety practices and machine maintenance. The successful candidate will be able to use a range of tools and techniques to support decision making and solve problems that are often complex and non-routine. They will have responsibility to identify and contribute to making improvements such as business processes, procedures, ways and methods of working.
