Description

Duties

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on boats, engines, and marina equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues accurately using mechanical knowledge and troubleshoot problems effectively.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to repair or replace faulty components.
  • Conduct repairs on propulsion systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other mechanical parts of marine vessels.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for each vessel or piece of equipment.
  • Collaborate with marina staff to coordinate repairs and ensure minimal disruption to marina operations.
  • Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in marine or automotive repair preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure quality repairs and maintenance.
  • Prior experience working with marine engines or vessels is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Valid certification or licensing related to marine mechanics is advantageous but not required.
