Trident Alternative Provision is an independent special school dedicated to providing exceptional education and support for young people aged 11 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as social and communication difficulties associated with Autism Spectrum Conditions and ADHD. We are looking for inspirational Key Stage 3/4 teachers with a English, Maths, Science and an understanding of qualifications at KS3/4. We are looking for teachers with an understanding and experience in working with children with SEN. We pride ourselves on being Kind, Safe, Hardworking and Respectful, but also supportive of each other, the community and our families.

SKILLS

• Strong background in SEN education
• Proficient in teaching physical education and promoting healthy lifestyles among children.
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques to effectively address various behavioural issues within the classroom.
• Experience working with children, particularly those requiring special education support or tutoring services.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• A nurturing attitude combined with patience and empathy towards children’s individual needs.
• Ability to create an organised and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
• Educate children in various subjects, including literacy, numeracy, and physical education, while promoting a love for learning.
• Utilise techniques such as Applied Behaviour Analysis to support children with special educational needs and behavioural challenges.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and collaboration among students.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians regarding their child’s development.
• Maintain effective classroom management strategies to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support the holistic development of each child.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
