JOB SUMMARY:

The English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English language and literature to students following the CBSE and IGCSE British curriculum. The teacher will create an engaging, enriching, and effective learning environment to ensure students achieve their highest potential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience teaching English at the secondary school level.
  • Experience with both CBSE and IGCSE British curriculum preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
  • Proficiency in using technology for teaching and administrative purposes.
Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Delivery:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with the CBSE and IGCSE British curriculum.
  • Use a variety of teaching methodologies and materials to cater to different learning styles.
  • Develop and adapt teaching resources to meet the needs of students.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Prepare and administer regular assessments to monitor and evaluate student progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Foster a culture of respect and discipline in the classroom.
  • Student Support:
  • Identify and support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Provide additional academic support to students as needed.
  • Engage with students to motivate and inspire a love for English language and literature.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and coordinate curriculum delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and any concerns.
  • Participate in departmental and school meetings, and contribute to school-wide activities and events.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay updated with the latest educational trends, methodologies, and curriculum developments.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
