English Language ArtsTeacher Hidaya Academy views education as encompassing the “whole child” -- i.e. the spiritual, social emotional, academic and physical needs of a student. JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the administrators, the English Language Arts teacher will provide educational experiences for the “whole child”-- including subject-matter and skills that facilitate a child’s growth into a mature and capable adult. The teacher will prepare and execute full teaching plans according to the school’s requirements. The teacher must respect the beliefs and practices of Ahl-us-Sunnah taught at Hidaya Academy.They will also responsible for assisting and guiding teachers to developing an environment that is developmentally and culturally appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, with certification and endorsements. Preferred Experience: 2-3 years teaching students at the elementary level (3rd- 5th) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ● Well-organized and highly committed ● Effective at multitasking and time management skills ● Creative and energetic with strong communication and presentation skills. Strong moral values and discipline ● Works well as part of a team and also demonstrates strong work ethics in order to achieve team and individual goals ● Operational knowledge of internet and web-related technologies ● Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students based on state, local and school standards in early education. ● Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, hands-on learning, demonstrations and independent practice using a variety of methods. ● Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of ability, instructional level, English proficiency or level of interest in the subject. ● Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by modeling expected behavior and standards and promoting positive interactions. Establishes a primary relationship with a group of children and their families; guides staff in development of primary relationships with children in their groups. Guides staff in conflict management and problem solving strategies with children Plan and implement on-site and off-site learning opportunities in accordance with Teachers’ professional development goals EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on assessment of professional personnel.
