OVERVIEW

Mashal Saturday School is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive team. We are looking for an exceptional educator who has a proven track record of delivering high-quality, engaging lessons in both English and Maths.
The ideal candidate will be a nurturing individual who understands the unique developmental needs of 5-7 year-olds. You will have a genuine love for fostering a love of learning, a commitment to ensuring every child reaches their potential, and the ability to create a classroom environment where all pupils feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and/or 2) in a UK primary school.
  • A strong, demonstrable understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum for English and Maths.
  • Passion for KS1: A genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and an understanding of their developmental milestones.
  • Creativity & Engagement: The ability to make learning fun, hands-on, and memorable through creative teaching methods.
  • Classroom Management: Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Adaptability: A reflective practitioner who is committed to their own professional development and adaptable to the needs of the school.
  • Team Player: A collaborative approach and a willingness to be a supportive and engaged member of our team.
  • Safeguarding: A firm commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: £100.00 per day
    Expected hours: 3 per week

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver outstanding, differentiated lessons in English and Maths that cater to the needs of all pupils within KS1.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and phase to plan, share best practice, and develop resources.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the Saturday school.
  • Promote outstanding behaviour and a positive attitude to learning, in line with our school values.
  • Support the social and emotional well-being of every child in your care.
  • Foster a love for reading through systematic phonics teaching (following our [e.g., Read Write Inc./Letters and Sounds] programme), shared reading, and story time.
  • Develop children’s writing skills, from letter formation and sentence structure to creative composition.
  • Make maths concepts concrete, using a wide range of practical resources and manipulatives to build deep conceptual understanding.
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that promotes independent learning and curiosity.
