English Graduate Teaching Assistant

West London | Full-Time | September Start | Long-Term

£90-£110 per day (depending on experience)

Are you an English Graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before training to become a teacher?

A high-achieving secondary school in West London is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its successful English department this September. This is an excellent opportunity for an English Graduate who is passionate about education and wants to inspire young people while building valuable school-based experience.

Working as a Teaching Assistant, you will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop their reading, writing, communication, and analytical skills. This role is ideal for an English Graduate considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or another education-related profession.

The Role - Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group literacy intervention sessions.
• Help students improve their reading, writing, comprehension, and analytical skills.
• Work alongside experienced English teachers to raise student attainment.
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• A degree in English, English Literature, English Language, or a closely related subject.
• A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
