Role Title: ELT Teacher
Report to: Managing Director
Department/ Function: British School of Marketing International
Sector/Division/ Sub-division: Education

Location: Bournemouth, UK
Role Purpose: Delivering English Language Teaching to foreign students
Role Scope: You will be responsible for delivering and ELT as well as managing the students’ progression making sure course outcomes are achieved by all students.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of ELT courses as well as setting syllabus for the needs of the learners.
  • You will be liaising closely with the accredited bodies and the Managing Director to make sure you are making the right progress with managing the courses.
  • Adapting to the needs of the students will be necessary.
  • You will need to make sure all students have their tutorials and their progress will be checked every Friday via Mock Examination.
  • Appropriate planning and preparation of the lessons using the available resources.
  • Making sure all the students are placed in correct levels.
  • Recruiting ELT teachers to cover the hours of teaching following BSMI’s recruitment policies.
  • To monitor the learners’ progression by tracking attendance, punctuality, withdrawals, retention and achievement to maximize student outcomes.
  • Identify areas subjected to further development.

Continuous Professional Development
. Peer observation is required as well as giving them a constructive feedback.
. Participating in CPD sessions and closely monitoring teachers for quality standards.
. Attending to all staff meetings and working closely with the Managing Director
. Participating ELT or non-ELT related meetings to be informed about the progress of the school
Communications and Collaboration
. Working with other teachers to develop further programs to meet the needs of the students.
Student Welfare
. The well being of our students is very important. Any problems concerning welfare of the students needs to be communicated to the person in charge of welfare immediately.
. Overseeing the general welfare of the students and supporting students through their academic studies will be under your responsibility.
. Managing student’s behavior in the classroom, school premises and taking an immediate action in cases of misbehavior.
Compliance and Health and Safety
. Assisting in the general maintenance of the school and complying with health and safety requirements.
. Complying at all times with the British Council and OFS Requirements.

. Relevant experience of curriculum review and development
. Demonstrable experience of tracking and monitoring learners leading to high outcomes for learners
. Experience of teaching learning and assessment

Qualifications required/desirable (professional qualifications, education, languages etc.):
Required:
. Teaching and learning qualification at Level 5 (essential)
. First Degree- Level 6 BA/BSc in Business or relevant subject area
. Level 2 English and numeracy (Essential)
Desirable: Professional qualifications in Business and Marketing
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Temp to perm
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: £16.50-£20.00 per hour
