Broughton Anglican College is a Pre Kinder to Year 12 Christian School in the Macarthur region and
provides exceptional educational opportunities to more than 1,400 students. Staff enjoy an innovative
teaching environment with supportive peers, students, parents and carers.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the English Faculty, under the supervision of
the Head of English, to develop and implement programs and maintain the high levels of achievement
from our students in the English curriculum areas. The ability to teach all levels of English would be an
advantage.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants for the position of English Teacher must demonstrate at a minimum that they:

  • are a committed Christian, who is active in the life of a Reformed Evangelical Church.
  • support the College’s vision of holistic Christian education.
  • conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with the College ethos and Code of Conduct at all

times, modelling Christian maturity to the College community.

  • have the ability to teach across Stages 4-6 of NESA English Syllabi to ensure that the College

provides quality education to students.

  • have exceptional communication and relational teaching skills.
  • have knowledge of relevant compliance requirements in schools.
  • holds a valid Working with Children Check in NSW (WWCC).
  • are an accredited teacher with at least Conditional Teacher accreditation from NESA.
  • work effectively and collaboratively in a Faculty team.
Responsibilities

The English Teacher should:

  • provide effective and innovative teaching practices for teaching English, reflecting the Christian

ethos of the College, ensuring a high standard of outcomes for all students.

  • manage curriculum requirements for their classes, including programs, registers, assessment,

feedback, and reporting.

  • manage student issues arising from their classes using the College’s positive behaviour

framework and implementing relevant College protocols.

  • implement College protocols and strategies.
  • provide effective pastoral care to students through leading a regular House Tutor group.
  • support cocurricular activities of the College.
