Description

We are looking for an English Teacher for an International School based in Beijing. This position is available from the upcoming 2026/27 academic year in February 2026. Responsibilities Plan and teach high-quality English lessons for senior high school students, with a focus on advanced reading, academic writing, speaking, and critical analysis. Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations (e.g. school finals, international exams) through targeted instruction and practice. Contribute to the ongoing development of the high school English curriculum, including units on literature, non-fiction texts, and academic writing. Design a range of formative and summative assessments and provide clear, timely feedback to help students track and improve their performance Create a supportive, academically rigorous classroom environment that encourages discussion, debate, independent thinking, and strong study habits. Differentiate instruction to support students at varying proficiency levels, including those who need reinforcement and those aiming for top university pathways. Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and whole-school literacy initiatives. Promote the 4C skills (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity) and foster cross-cultural awareness through course content and classroom activities. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, goals, and areas for development. Support the wider school community by leading or assisting with English-related clubs (e.g. debate, Model UN, writing club), school events, duties, and routine admin such as attendance and grading.
