About the role Farm & Forge Club is seeking a highly capable, mission-aligned English Language Arts Teacher to support and develop student-athletes. This role is responsible for delivering in-person English instruction, reinforcing core academic concepts, advancing student writing and reading proficiency, and ensuring students remain on pace and performing at a high academic level. This is not a traditional lecture-based classroom role. Teachers serve as academic leaders who provide individualized instruction, maintain academic accountability, and help students build the discipline required for long-term success. What you'll do Provide in-person English Language Arts instruction and academic support aligned with each student's online curriculum Conduct small group and one-on-one tutoring sessions to ensure understanding of content. Monitor and assess student progress, providing ongoing feedback and adapting instruction as needed. Provide structured feedback on writing assignments and academic performance Maintain a focused, disciplined academic environment Communicate regularly with students, parents, and leadership regarding process and performance Collaborate with other faculty to support the overall academic development of student-athletes Participate in faculty meetings and ongoing professional development Qualifications Bachelor's degree Valid Tennessee teaching license in English Language Arts, or ability to obtain licensure Prior experience teaching English Language Arts Strong writing, grammar, and literacy instruction capability Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic academic environment. Ability to build strong, professional relationships with students Passion for working with student-athletes and understanding their unique academic and athletic needs. Candidates who have taught Advanced Placement (AP) courses and demonstrate a strong track record of a high percentage of students scoring 3 or higher on AP exams will be strongly considered.
