OAKLearning Center is looking for an experienced reliable, patient and enthusiastic English teacher/ tutor who is passionate about helping students achieve full potential. We offer both small size enrichment classes and private tutoring. Job site can be either at our beautiful center in Oakville or online using Microsoft Teams depending on the individual class or tutoring requirements.

A QUALIFIED CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Subject expert in English specifically for high school/college/university level is a must.
  • Currently pursuing or have previously completed Teacher’s College degree, OCT or OCT pending an added asset.
  • Familiarity and experience with the current Ontario/Canadian Curriculum is a must.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • On time, self-motivated, reliable and high level of commitment to education service excellence.
  • Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening or willingness to get one
  • Excellent work ethics is a must.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for teaching individuals/small groups of students
  • Classroom management: prepare coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts
  • Evaluate the student’s class work and assignments (i.e. grade tests, lab reports and other assignments)
  • Offer advice on further learning and progression opportunities to students as required
  • Provide students with feedback in line with the faculty assessment systems
  • Create individualized lesson plans to meet identified learning goals
  • Communicate with director, students, and parents on on-going basis to share student progress
  • Update lesson note to OAKLearning system after each teaching/tutoring session
