Carrey International Education is currently seeking experienced and dedicated Elementary and Middle School English Tutors to join our team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Curriculum
  • OCT preferred.
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience in Elementary school language class is a MUST.
  • Proficiency in teaching writing and reading comprehension skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organized and able to create effective lesson plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education(required).
    Compensation: commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist students in achieving good grades in schools.
  • Focus on Ontario curriculum expectations and related language skills.
  • Prepare engaging lesson plans that align with the Ontario curriculum requirements.
  • Prioritize and assist with school work in class; assign relevant homework questions.
  • Provide support in listening, speaking, writing and reading comprehension skills.
  • Offer guidance and constructive feedback on written assignments.
  • Help students develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
  • Periodically evaluate and communicate the progress of the students to onsite Academic Assistant or Director.
  • Willingness to assist in planning/implementing of special events and promotional activities for the centre.
