We are seeking a passionate and qualified English Teacher to join our team, specializing in IGCSE English Literature and Language instruction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, English Language, or related field
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience teaching IGCSE English or equivalent international curriculum
  • Strong knowledge of Cambridge IGCSE English Literature and Language syllabi
  • Excellent command of English language with outstanding written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in English or Education
  • Cambridge examiner experience
  • Experience with diverse student populations
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms and educational technology

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive IGCSE English Literature and Language lessons to students aged 11-16
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with Cambridge / Edexcel IGCSE curriculum requirements and assessment objectives
  • Prepare students for both Literature (0486/0992) and Language (0500/0990) examinations
  • Foster critical thinking, analytical writing, and literary appreciation skills
  • Assess student progress through regular assignments, mock exams, and constructive feedback
  • Create a supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and discussion
  • Guide students through prescribed texts and poetry selections for literature component
  • Develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills for language component
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student development and academic performance
