About the Role

The school is seeking a qualified Secondary English Teacher to join their team on a full-time, ongoing basis, commencing ASAP in Term 3, 2026.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching English across Years 7–10
  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging, and differentiated English lessons
  • Developing students' literacy, comprehension, writing, and critical thinking skills
  • Supporting students across a range of abilities and learning needs
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and academically focused classroom environment
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress in line with curriculum requirements
  • Contributing to faculty planning, moderation, and curriculum development
  • Participating in school activities and the broader college community

Requirements

  • Secondary teaching qualification (B.Ed, M.Teach, PGCE or equivalent)
  • VIT registration or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience teaching English across Years 7–10
  • Strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum
  • Ability to engage and inspire students across a range of abilities
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student wellbeing
  • Two professional child-related referees
