Responsibilities

The Victims of Crime Commissioner is an independent statutory officer who advocates for victims of crime in their dealings with the justice system and government agencies.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Engaging with victims of crime through written (letters, emails) and verbal (telephone) communications in a manner which supports victims to build empowerment and agency
  • Receiving enquiries and complaints by telephone, in writing, or in person, according to the expectations of the Victims of Crime Commissioner’s Office
  • Embing a trauma-informed approach to your engagement with people who have been adversely impacted by crime that contact the Victim of Crime Commissioner’s Office.
