Important update on this role’s location: please note, this position will initially be based at 530 Collins Street, Melbourne, before relocating to our principal office located at 465 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne from February 2026.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Reporting directly to the Manager, Roll Systems and Compliance Projects, this role will be responsible for:
  • Supervising the technical aspects of the creation of voters’ rolls for State and local government elections, by-elections, and electoral boundary modelling.
  • Designing and implementing testing of system enhancements to optimise processes and improve procedural efficiency.
  • Provide in depth technical analysis in the resolution of any issues that impact the VEC’s enrolment activities.
  • Investigating internal system problems and applying technical expertise to develop and recommend resolution strategies.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Experience managing a complex relational database system.
  • Advanced skills in the Microsoft Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Ability to write database queries using SQL.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commitment to the VEC’s core values.
