Enterprise Architect, Brussels (Hybrid) – European Commission Job role: Enterprise Architect. Minimum experience: Studies required: Master’s level or 5 years of higher education Language: English (C1) and French (B2) (Mandatory). Location: Brussels (Hybrid). Security requirements: EU national. DESCRIPTION: Responsible for designing and maintaining enterprise-level cloud architecture, ensuring interoperability and efficiency across systems. Key tasks include defining IT strategies, preparing technical documentation, coordinating architecture implementation, and supporting integration of information systems. Expertise in cloud migration, microservices, semantic technologies, and architecture frameworks (TOGAF, COBIT, ArchiMate) is essential. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills required. Certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, and ITIL are highly valued. Tasks: • Provide guidance and support related to system architecture and system processes with the contractor. • Provide guidance and support related to systems architecture and system processes with the stakeholders. • Provide guidance and support related to system architecture and system processes with the interoperability between SKPT and EURES/Europass. • Definition of a strategy to gain efficiency in IT operations for the Project. • Preparation and maintenance of Architecture design and technical documentation. • Coordination and review of current system processes. • Participate in workshops and meetings with external stakeholders. • Assistance with the evaluation of systems to find out discrepancies and vulnerabilities. • Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers. • Analysis of the integration of different information systems. • Data analysis and data modelling. • Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture. • Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers. • Production of software architecture documents. • Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users. • Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting. • Creating designs and blueprints of Cloud Architecture. • Review of the architecture of existing systems to migrate of existing system in the cloud. • Design and development of architecture components and building blocks using cloud components. Knowledge and skills: Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as Togaf and Cobit. Knowledge of Archimate. Knowledge of Semantic technologies. Good knowledge of microservices and architecture in the cloud. AI and Machine Learning Integration, architecture governance framework and MLOps. Ability to react to unexpected events efficiently and fast. Ability to give business and technical presentations. Ability to apply high quality standards. Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in the SKPT project. Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences. Very good analysis and problem solving skills. Capability to write clear and structured technical documents. Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills. Specific expertise: Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design. Ability to give technical presentations. Ability to apply high quality standards. Semantic Web Stack: RDF/OWL processing with Apache Jena, SPARQL, triple stores (GraphDB, Apache Fuseki), and semantic reasoning engines. At least 10 years of experience with Microsoft office tools. Practical expertise in system vulnerability assessment. Cloud and Enterprise architecture certification will be a plus. Certification and/or standards: Certificates & standards required for the performance of tasks: AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Google Professional Cloud Architect. Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD). Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting. Creating designs and blueprints of Cloud Architecture.
