OVERVIEW

BerryDunn is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our Medicaid Practice Group. This role will focus on providing expert guidance and professional consulting services to State Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies engaged in Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) modernization efforts. The Enterprise Architect will help clients define and execute their vision through the development of roadmaps, enterprise architecture frameworks, and technology strategies.
Travel expectations: Up to 50% travel to client sites nationwide

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT architecture or technical consulting, including 5 years specifically supporting Medicaid.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise architecture planning, developing architecture frameworks, and supporting system modernization initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of MMIS modularity, systems integration, and SOA/cloud-based architectural patterns.
  • Ability to develop clear, compelling architecture artifacts and present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and systems engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
  • Experience working with or advising State government agencies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with the MITA Framework, CMS certification processes, and Medicaid operations.
  • Prior consulting experience with a national or regional firm or working with MES vendors.
  • Enterprise Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, Open CA, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
