About You
The Enterprise Architect (EA) is integral to the Architecture & Software Engineering group, facilitating enterprise transformation in alignment with business objectives.
The EA collaborates with IT Services, business units, and leadership to formulate and prioritise RMIT University’s enterprise architecture. Key responsibilities encompass the development, maintenance, and governance of the university’s architectural framework, including Reference Architectures, Blueprints, Roadmaps, and Technology Strategies. Furthermore, the EA provides support to Solution Architects by providing guidance on platform and solution-level architecture.
The EA ensures comprehensive stakeholder engagement across the organisation, ensuring that
architecture aligns with future requirements and RMIT’s strategic goals.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have experience in:

• Leading the development and advancement of the Enterprise Architecture function, establishing guidelines, frameworks, and standards to ensure excellence in architecture.
• Defining and maintain the comprehensive lifecycle of strategic architecture, including roadmaps, current and target state architectures, blueprints, principles, guidelines, and Reference

Architecture, by collaborating with stakeholders across the university and IT Services.

• Guiding and participate in Solution Architecture across various projects and initiatives, ensuring that

solutions adhere to architectural principles and contribute to RMIT’s target state architecture.

• Conducting analysis of the business’s future-state capabilities and current IT environment to identify critical deficiencies and recommend improvements to support and enable value delivery for the organisation.
• Leading and facilitate the creation of governance, assurance, and standards to guide architectural decision-making, ensuring an optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with the defined Enterprise Architecture framework and methodology.
• Collaborating across the organisation to translate Business and Technology Strategies into

Enterprise Architecture roadmaps.

• Working across ITS functions to identify, plan, and deliver enterprise architecture related demand throughout the portfolio.
• Applying a pragmatic, connected, and modern approach to Enterprise Architecture as an enabler of growth, continuous improvement, and thought leadership.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Over seven years of experience as an Enterprise Architect in large, complex organisations.
• Capable of conveying new ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Highly collaborative and supportive of business strategies. Experienced in working with senior business executives and able to provide professional feedback.
• General maturity across EA frameworks with practical application knowledge.
• Able to convey the value of enterprise architecture and manage stakeholder expectations

effectively.

• Familiarity with EA modelling tools; experience with Essential Cloud is advantageous.
• Understanding data architecture, including conceptual and logical modelling, DQM, MDM, and

data policy and lifecycle management. Experience with Amazon AWS data infrastructure and Informatica is advantageous.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, system

analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience

The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe.
