This role is responsible for building and maintaining a secure, scalable data warehouse using Microsoft’s cloud-based tools (Azure, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric), ensuring high data quality, availability, and semantic consistency.    Reporting to the Manager, Business Enablement & Analytics, the Data Architect will define and enforce best practices in data modeling, semantic layer design, and governance. The ideal candidate operates independently and communicates effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Data Architecture & Modeling • Design and maintain an enterprise data warehouse using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric.  • Build and manage semantic data models to support reporting via Power BI and Azure Analysis Services.  • Document standards for data modeling, naming conventions, and dataset architecture. Data Governance & Quality Assurance • Define and enforce governance policies, including data definitions, rules, and access protocols.  • Implement automated data quality checks and validation.  • Collaborate with users to understand data needs and address inconsistencies. Technical Leadership • Serve as SME on data architecture.  • Translate business needs into scalable data models.  • Advise non-technical leaders on architecture decisions. Enablement & Support • Provide documentation and data dictionaries to support self-service analytics.  • Work with BI developers and business teams to ensure data meets reporting needs.   Required Skills & Qualifications * 8+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or BI roles. *  Expertise in Microsoft Azure Data Services including SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, and Fabric. * Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing queries. * Python or R scripting knowledge * Deep knowledge of semantic modeling in Power BI or Azure Analysis Services. * Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (desktop, service, DAX, Power Query) * Experience structuring ERP (Epicor preferred) and CRM data for reporting. * Clear grasp of end-to-end business process flows within an ERP system, including Quote-to-Cash, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger (GL) transactions *  Understanding of enterprise data concepts and lifecycle * Demonstrated ownership of governance and data quality * Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders.
