JOB SUMMARY

Minnesota Housing is hiring! We’re a mission-focused financial institution looking for an Enterprise Data Architect Supervisor to join our Business Technology Support (BTS) team to lead our data engineering and data services functions, shaping our enterprise data strategy and ensuring data is collected, stored, transformed and delivered in ways that maximize business value.
This role provides strategic and technical leadership for our enterprise data environment, blending deep technical expertise with product-oriented thinking, overseeing both the foundational infrastructure and the services that make data accessible, actionable, and reliable across the organization. You will lead a talented team of data professionals while partnering with leaders across the agency to align data capabilities with organizational objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven (7) years of experience in leading enterprise data initiatives, including data engineering and data services functions.
  • Four (4) plus years of this experience must be in enterprise data architect role.
  • Three (3) years of this experience must include direct management of technical data teams who maintain, develop and/or configure data infrastructure and systems.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Computer Architecture may substitute for one (1) year of experience or a Master’s degree in computer science or computer Architecture may substitute for 18 months of experience.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, warehouses, and/or data lakes at enterprise scale.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise data tools (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift).
  • Experience implementing self-service tools and platforms that empower stakeholders to access and analyze data without engineering intervention.
  • Ability to establish and manage SLAs for data quality, availability, and timeliness.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex IT concepts and systems transparently and effectively to diverse audiences and partners.
  • Skilled leadership with demonstrated ability to delegate tasks, motivate the team to meet deadlines and to monitor the team’s work.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of experience managing Information Technology budgets and effectively communicating budget information to stakeholders.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Budget and Contract Management skills to competently manage assigned duties and assess needs for additional funding for IT activities as required.
  • Proficiency in the Agile development life cycle (such as Kanban and Scrum methodologies), continuous delivery and DevOps.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and metadata management tools.
