JOB PURPOSE Planning, connecting, designing & optimizing data management activities and understanding of industry best practices for Data warehouse, Key Data elements, Data Quality Management, Metadata, and Enterprise Data Management Policy, Process, and Procedures. Description Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect 1. Prepare design for all metadata according to various ETL processes. 2. Develop both physical and logical data models. 3. Prepare designs for database systems and recommend improvements for performance. 4. Engage with Business Stakeholders to ensure that CIB Data Warehouse Strategies are developed in alignment with business outcomes and corporate goals and strategies. 5. Promote and guide CIB Data Warehouse team to the principles and contents of Technology Strategies to ensure their correct implementation and adherence. 6. Provide support throughout project life cycles, including during the delivery and implementation of solutions, ensuring patterns and development standards are understood and adhered to. 7. Ensure that Data governance standards are fully adhered to, with oversight of data modelling work. 8. Support warehouse development to optimise performance. 9. Work closely with Stakeholders and Business Analysts to analyse and translate business requirements into practical technical requirements and appropriate solutions. Policies, Processes and Procedures 10. Follow all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. Day-to-day operations 11. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the IT Architecture & Strategy department to ensure continuity of work. Compliance 12. Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. • 15+ years of experience with at least 10 years of Data warehouse architecture/management/design. • Track record of managing the architecture of multiple change projects/programs in a complex environment • Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining • Highly results driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a very fast paced environment where the pace and quality of response is critical to success • Motivated self-starter who can work autonomously and add value in a team • Excellent interpersonal, organization and time management skills • Must be cooperative, flexible and able to work well with others • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle • Hands on experience in the Insurance sector or Financial Services is preferred • Excellent organizational and analytical skills Skills • Very Good in English, reading, writing and speaking. • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. • Analytical thinker Strong knowledge of Data Architectures found in banking sector • Very good Leadership skills • Very good Communication skills • Analytic thinking, problem solving and decision making
