The Role and the Department The role sits within the Careers and Enterprise Centre, specifically within the thriving Venture Lab team. Venture Lab is a dedicated space, team and service for students and graduates of Durham University who wish to develop entrepreneurial and innovation skills, to develop startups or thrive within industry following graduation. After a period of growth, the team is now looking to appoint an Enterprise Manager. Candidates should have an enthusiastic and adaptable approach to contributing to ongoing and new developments within the enterprise remit, as well as a genuine desire to work with students, academics, entrepreneurs, and external business contacts. Reporting to the Senior Startup Manager, the post holder will influence the development and shape of curricular and co-curricular activities and initiatives which develop both innovation skills and business start-up support activities. A key role for the post will be the development of a programme of workshops, events, and activities for students and graduates in support of entrepreneurial skills development. Engaging with the wider student community and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in support of the development of enterprise provision and activity will also be a key element of the post. Professional practitioner with knowledge and expertise in the delivery and development of enterprise services, events, and activities. 3. Experience of providing specialist enterprise advice and guidance to students, graduates and colleagues, including more senior colleagues. 5. Experience of participating in internal or external networks to share and discuss good practice, develop strong and productive working relationships and positively influence the University’s reputation. Skills/Abilities/Knowledge 6. Excellent spoken and written communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver enterprise related workshops, one-to-one support, and events 7. Strong digital competence across a range digital devices and apps including digital communication tools and Microsoft 365 applications. 8. Committed to continuing professional development to maintain professional recognition. 9. Knowledge and experience of ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational policy and guidelines. 10.
