What You Will Do The Enterprise Modernization Manager serves as a strategic advisor and technical leader within the Innovative Services and Solutions pillar of OIS. This position is part of the Enterprise Architecture team, which guides the agency’s long‑range technology direction and ensures that solutions are aligned with business goals, modernization priorities, and emerging capabilities. Working in a collaborative, matrixed environment, the Enterprise Modernization Manager partners closely with executives, administrators, technical specialists, and business leaders to evaluate new technologies, define enterprise standards, and shape agency‑wide strategies, especially in the areas of data, analytics, AI/ML, and automation (including RPA). The team’s work plays a central role in advancing ODJFS’s ability to leverage intelligent automation, improve service delivery, and support data‑driven decision‑making across all program areas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems at scale, influencing enterprise technology direction, and helping the organization responsibly adopt innovative technologies such as AI, machine learning, and automated digital workflows. Duties include but are not limited to: Provide technical advice and recommendations to the OIS Chief Architect, OIS Administrators, and agency executives on enterprise information systems strategy, data initiatives, and AI adoption. Serve as a consultant to executives, managers, and line‑of‑business customers on information systems analysis, planning, enterprise data strategy, and emerging technology opportunities. Lead development and maintenance of enterprise architecture work efforts and produce architecture artifacts, standards, and roadmaps to guide enterprise solution design. Apply enterprise architecture principles to conduct high‑level enterprise analysis, design, planning, and implementation activities. Analyze technology market trends, especially in AI, data platforms, and automation, and provide research‑based recommendations to leadership. Provide architecture input for RFP’s and contribute actively to evaluating RFPs for modernization initiatives and provide architectural and design governance for enterprise modernization efforts. Assess business needs and priorities and advise stakeholders on technology options, risks, cost‑benefit considerations, and impacts to enterprise systems. Supervises assigned staff and provides directions to implement automation projects that include RPA and AI solutions Keep current with emerging technologies, conduct informal learning sessions and provide technical presentations for the organization Schedule: Full-time Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Pay Information This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 16. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $47.90 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
