Enterprise Resource Planning, Sourcing & Commercial Lead, Enterprise Procurement We are seeking an experienced IT sourcing Procurement professional to represent Enterprise Procurement in support of a cross‑functional Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transformation as part of the Integrated Services Renewal (ISR) multi‑year program. The Lead will play a critical role on the ISR team, supporting the end‑to‑end sourcing, evaluation, contracting, and vendor governance of an ERP platform and associated implementation partners. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Procurement, this role is embedded within the ISR program and serves as the lead procurement advisor, with accountability for guiding sourcing strategy, evaluations, and commercial outcomes. This role is aligned to the duration of key ISR program phases, with full-time involvement during critical procurement and implementation activities. Primary Purpose The Lead will leverage deep IT sourcing, ERP procurement, and commercial management expertise to support ISR program needs, including market analysis, sourcing strategy development, contract structuring, risk management, and supplier performance oversight. Working closely with the ISR core team during RFP development and needs analysis, this role ensures that USask procurement policies, public‑sector compliance requirements, and commercial best practices are embedded throughout the sourcing and contracting lifecycle. The incumbent will act as the primary procurement and commercial advisor to the ISR program. Nature of Work This role provides strategic IT sourcing leadership and subject‑matter expertise to enable the successful selection and contracting of an ERP solution and implementation partner(s). The Lead will: Translate business, functional, and technical requirements into effective sourcing and commercial strategies Guide the project team through complex IT procurement processes, including public solicitations, evaluations, negotiations, and contract award Support the deployment of a consistent, enterprise‑wide ERP sourcing and vendor management approach Serve as a key liaison between Procurement, Finance, HR, IT, external consultants, and vendors The role requires ongoing collaboration with the ISR Project Team, Project Manager, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement decisions align with enterprise architecture, technology strategy, risk tolerance, and long‑term value realization. Key Accountabilities Provide strategic IT sourcing and commercial leadership within the ERP program Lead the administration of public IT solicitations, including RFP development, vendor evaluation, negotiations, contract award, and execution Advise on ERP contracting models, including software licensing, SaaS, implementation services, managed services, and support agreements Ensure alignment with USask procurement policies, trade agreements, privacy, security, and public‑sector compliance requirements Partner with Finance, HR, IT, and functional leaders to define sourcing strategy, evaluation criteria, and vendor selection methodology Conduct market intelligence and vendor landscape analysis to inform sourcing decisions and strategy Identify commercial, legal, and delivery risks, and proactively develop mitigation strategies Document ERP sourcing approaches, templates, and lessons learned to inform and strengthen enterprise IT procurement practices Facilitate stakeholder engagement and feedback to support system and vendor requirements definition Provide regular updates to Procurement leadership on progress, risks, issues, and opportunities Support ongoing vendor governance, contract management, and performance oversight as required Collaborate effectively with internal partners (ConnectionPoint, Procurement Leads, Strategic Business Advisors, Colleges/Units) to ensure a holistic understanding of organizational needs Perform other related duties as required Qualifications Education University or post‑secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related field Post‑graduate education or professional certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, IT Management, or Project Management is considered an asset An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered Experience Progressive experience in IT sourcing, strategic procurement, or vendor management, preferably within a large, complex, or public‑sector organization Demonstrated experience sourcing enterprise technology solutions, including ERP systems, SaaS platforms, and large‑scale IT implementation services Experience leading or supporting ERP or major enterprise system RFPs, including requirements development, evaluation, negotiations, and contract execution Strong understanding of IT commercial models, including software licensing, cloud subscriptions, professional services, and managed services Proven ability to perform complex commercial and financial analysis, including total cost of ownership (TCO), pricing models, and value‑for‑money assessments Experience working with cross‑functional teams (Finance, HR, IT, Legal) to gather system and vendor requirements Familiarity with public‑sector procurement, trade agreements, and governance frameworks is an asset Experience supporting organizational change initiatives and large‑scale digital transformations is considered an asset Skills and Competencies Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills (written and verbal) Advanced analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving capabilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines in a complex project environment Demonstrated expertise with ERP, IT sourcing, and vendor governance processes High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills; experience with procurement or contract management systems is an asset Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence without authority Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to delivering strategic value and risk‑aware outcomes Department: Enterprise Procurement Status: Term 18 months with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent Employment Group: ASPA Full Time Equivalent (FTE): 1.0 Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $87,266.00 - 145,353.00 per annum.
