About the Role Reporting to the IT Commercial & Assurance Manager, this role will see you own BDO’s software licensing lifecycle and portfolio management to ensure optimal value, compliance, and risk reduction. Lead all new software requests via the ITSM intake, drive optimisation at renewal, standardise technology requirements, and develop the qualified vendor list. As the Enterprise Software Licensing Specialist you are the SME for licensing and technology requirements nationally, ensuring minimum standards are met or exceeded. This role can be located in any major Australian city and allows for a hybrid working arrangement, paired with a primary onsite requirement of at least 50% of your working week. Key Responsibilities: Renewals & Optimisation; Intake & Governance (ITSM); Software Portfolio Management (SAM/ITAM); Qualified Vendor List; Stakeholder Collaboration; Go-to-Market Support; Continuous Improvement. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Qualifications & Experience Experience with software licensing, optimisation and performance management. 5+ years in ICT software/application management or commercial governance. Demonstrated experience managing multiple software renewals with competing deadlines. Demonstrated experience managing enterprise software licensing across multiple vendors. Demonstrated experience writing detailed and complex Scopes of Work and requirements documents for Software and Software implementations. Experience collaborating with internal business units, Procurement, Finance and Legal in a professional services context. Skills Deep licensing knowledge of one or more of: Microsoft, Workday, Monday.com (including audit exposure), Azure consumption constructs (Reserved Instances/Savings Plans understanding for cross functional FinOps collaboration). ServiceNow / SaaS License Management Familiarity with SAM tools (Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow) and integrating feeds into ServiceNow for single pane reporting. Process & Automation Renewal workflows with SLA timers and approvals. Using APIs/exports from SaaS admin portals for utilisation analyses and audit packs. Change & Continuous Improvement Driving rationalisation programs (eliminating duplicate apps, consolidating vendors), and embedding lessons learned into standards. Building playbooks/templates: ELP (Effective Licensing Position) method, renewal checklist, intake minimum standards, qualified vendor list. Why BDO?
