About the Role The Program Manager is a strategic leader responsible for the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional programs. This role integrates multiple project streams, aligns initiatives with organizational goals, and fosters collaboration across business units and external vendors. The Program Manager champions program governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and benefit realization, while ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. What a Typical Day Looks Like Lead the coordination and execution of large-scale programs by integrating plans from multiple project managers and translating business cases into actionable delivery plans. Build and maintain comprehensive program roadmaps and present updates to stakeholders. Oversee program scope, schedule, and budget, reporting deviations to program stakeholders. Monitor deliverables, milestones, and interdependencies, including operational impacts, to ensure program integrity. Track and report progress, ensuring adherence to quality standards and governance frameworks. Develop and maintain robust risk management plans; escalate risks appropriately to stakeholders. Collaborate with sponsors and Organizational Change Management (OCM) teams to define scope, vision, and benefit realization strategies. Support project managers in issue resolution and escalation, ensuring alignment with program goals. Apply systems thinking to manage concurrent projects and optimize resource utilization. Foster collaborative relationships across teams to drive shared objectives. Mentor and coach project managers and team members on program delivery best practices. Lead cross-functional teams to build positive, high-performing cultures and secure necessary resources. Ensure dependencies and impacts across AFSC departments are identified and addressed throughout the program lifecycle. Review and approve work plans and Statements of Work (SoW) for external consultants and service providers. What You’ll Bring Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent business experience. PMP or PgMP certification preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in program/project management within a matrixed environment. Proven experience delivering complex projects and/or programs. Experience leading transformational change initiatives. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong proficiency in program and project management tools, governance, and knowledge areas. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Advanced computer literacy, including MS Office Suite.
