Description

Overview:
The enterprise workforce strategist drives the enterprise labor management from design through ongoing execution, program enhancements and measurable service level, satisfaction and ROI improvements. This role serves as a system administrator to scheduling applications and a data analyst.
Responsibilities:

Leads strategic workforce management planning efforts

  • Works closely with health system leadership to establish short and long term staffing improvement plans, prioritization of efforts, development and execution of strategies, and continuous monitoring of key performance indicators to measure the success of enterprise resource management.
  • Supports the development of workforce realignment planning to meet core and contingency hiring targets.
  • Guides implementation of best practice staffing and scheduling workflows to achieve operational excellence.
  • Facilitates steering committee and working group meetings, to achieve shared vision, policy or procedure workflows, and integration in staffing operations as outlined within agreed initiatives.
  • Serves as Smart Square System Administrator
  • Acts as a resource for all leaders and staff utilizing the Smart Square scheduling software.
  • Assists with maintaining, developing, and designing future state workflow diagrams in collaboration with HRIS Analysts, IT Application Analysts, Nursing Operations, and Nursing Leadership.
  • Makes configuration changes within the Smart Square application, supporting end user needs, and ensuring DCH Change Management processes are followed.
  • Coordinates planned downtime and updates for Smart Square’s software suite. This includes collaboration on labor division with IT, HRIS, Nursing Operations, Nursing Leadership, and other key players.
  • Takes the initiative to resolve/correct user problems and works with other support departments such as IT and HR for areas of integration that overlap.
  • Collaborates with the IT Application Analyst on downtime planning and documentation for afterhours IT support processes and protocol. Manages ongoing relationship with the AMN team.
  • Initiates and escalates Help Desk requests as necessary.
  • Provides follow-up to staff and management to ensure user issues are resolved.
  • Serves as the health system’s Enterprise Labor Management Data Analyst
  • Directs fact-based analytics to measure and reports key economic and strategic opportunities and outcomes.
  • Develops and executes standardized reporting related volume and patterns, staff productivity and resource allocation.
  • Presents trend reports to management to assist in organizational development.
  • Utilizes data analytics software to build dashboards for metrics defined by nursing leadership and adhering to all DCH Data Governance standards.
  • Ongoing Leadership Training and Education
  • Works collaboratively to provide routine updates and education regarding Smart Square and Enterprise Labor Management to managers and leadership.
  • Coordinates training for new leaders on Smart Square processes and provides education aligned with the system’s organizational labor management strategies.
  • Serves as a report writing subject matter expert
  • Develops and maintains Smart Square custom reporting and expertise on the integrated analytics tool

Qualifications:
Education / Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or human resources related field OR 4 years experience in IT, HRIS or Staffing/Scheduling System Administration. Experience with electronic scheduling systems preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated success within the field of healthcare operations or human resources.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgetary, customer relationship accountabilities and human resource management.
  • Expertise in workflow design and process improvement methodologies.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance related to workforce management.
  • Demonstrated competence in data analysis.
