Key Responsibilities Teach beginner and intermediate swim lessons with a focus on safety and foundational skills. Build positive relationships with students and parents by regularly communicating progress and addressing questions. Maintain a safe and organized environment throughout lessons by adhering to established safety protocols. Engage in ongoing professional development to improve teaching skills and stay up-to-date with curriculum updates. Support the team by participating in meetings, reviewing lesson plans, and collaborating with lead instructors. Requirements Experience: Competitive swim background highly preferred but not required. Previous experience teaching swim lessons is preferred but not required. 6 months of swim instruction experience preferred (not required). Certifications: Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications preferred. If not certified, the candidate must be able to meet the requirements to pass Lifeguard certification, including: Swimming at least 200 yards continuously. Treading water for 2 minutes. Retrieving a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool and swimming with it above the surface. Skills and Attributes: Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues. A caring, compassionate approach with children and adults. Ability to work in the water for up to 5-hour periods. A positive attitude and openness to feedback and coaching. Ability to focus and perform well in a fast-paced environment. Commitment: Must be able to commit to at least one year of employment. Afternoon and weekend availability required.
