OVERVIEW

The Entitlements Coordinator ensures that all program participants are enrolled in and maintain all applicable benefits and entitlements.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in OPWDD programs or
· 5 years’ experience in the social service sector specifically handling benefits and entitlements.
· Probationary Period: 6 months

Pay: $62,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for developing proper monitoring procedures related to program participants’ benefits and entitlements to ensure compliance with funding sources requirements.
  2. Complete and maintain eligibility for individuals’ benefits and entitlements with Medicaid, Social Security, HRA and Medicare. Track expiration dates for individuals’ benefits and entitlements.
  3. Verify benefits eligibility for new program participants. Participate in in-take meetings.
  4. Develop tracking systems to submit re-determination and recertification’s of benefit are per regulatory guidelines. Ensure all individuals are eligible for entitlements before admission.
  5. Ensuring resolution of all entitlements issues as Medicaid billing, exception codes, Social Security Administration and SNAP. Report on unresolved issues to the Finance Department.
  6. Provide the Finance department with all new individuals benefit income status regularly.
  7. Visit government offices to fulfill obligations to maintain entitlements for individuals, for example: Social Security offices, OPWDD offices, etc.
  8. Provides guidance as to Personal Allowance rules and regulations, and monitors the agency’s compliance with such regulations. Review all Personal Allowances on a regular basis.
  9. Oversee distribution and receipt of the Clothing allowance funds.
  10. Review individuals’ bank account balance monthly to comply with Social Security Administration policies.
  11. Process appeals and pursue legal channels to obtain funding for individuals who have been denied for entitlements.
  12. Represent individuals and agency at individuals’ administrative hearings.
  13. Oversee all entitlement correspondence with various agencies and individuals.
  14. Keep abreast of public policy issues and new developments in the field. Attend information training and seminars to remain current on trends and entitlements systems change.
  15. Liaison between Catholic Charities and government agencies ensuring Catholic Charities management is aware of any updates in rules and regulations.
  16. All other duties as necessary to provide continuous service to individuals.
  17. Biweekly submission of OPWDD billing via Millin.
